Cole Caufield is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). Caufield was drafted 15th overall by the Canadiens in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Caufield is known for his quick and accurate wrist shot, as well as his ability to score goals in bunches. He set the United States National Development Program (USNDP) record for most goals in a season with 72, surpassing the previous record of 58 set by Phil Kessel. Caufield also set the USNDP career record for goals with 126, surpassing the previous record of 121 set by Kessel.
Caufield won a gold medal with the United States at the 2020 World Junior Championship, where he led the tournament in goals with 9.
